Gem and jewellery trade shows
The main fairs where dealers buy and sell stones, and when they usually run.
Last checked October 2026. Trade-show dates and even whether a show runs at all change often, so confirm with each organiser before you book travel or ship stones.
Tucson gem shows
Tucson, Arizona, USA · Late January to February each year
Many separate shows run at once. Organisers' listings for 2027 include JOGS Tucson Winter (27 January to 7 February) and AGTA GemFair (31 January to 4 February). GJX has been listed for 1 to 6 March 2027, but its 2026 edition ran in February, so confirm.

A large US jewellery trade event. Confirm the dates and registration with the organiser.
Hong Kong jewellery and gem fairs
Hong Kong · Several fairs a year, typically around March, June and September
One listing shows Jewellery & Gem ASIA on 17 to 20 June 2027 for trade visitors. Check each fair's organiser for the exact dates.
Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair
Bangkok, Thailand · Typically held twice a year, around February and September
Important for coloured stones and for buyers from across Asia. Confirm dates with the organiser.
Inhorgenta Munich
Munich, Germany · Typically late winter or early spring
A European jewellery, watch and gem fair. Confirm dates with the organiser.
Idar-Oberstein events
Idar-Oberstein, Germany · Varies
The Intergem fair, held annually for about four decades, was cancelled for 2025 for lack of exhibitor sign-ups, and no relaunch date was found. A minerals fair, Mineral World, is listed for 22 to 23 May 2027 at Messe Idar-Oberstein, and the Idar-Oberstein Buying Days for goldsmiths and gem dealers ran in April in 2026. Check before planning a trip.
Preparing stock for a show
- Record every stone you take: stock number, weight, photo, report number and agreed minimum price.
- Label stones with barcodes or QR codes so each can be checked out and back in.
- Put stones you hand to buyers on memo, and note who has them and until when.
- Insure the stock and check the customs rules for carrying stones across borders.
- Reconcile the list the day you return: sold, still on memo, back in the safe.
